Stress

Stress

- When the pressure gets too much and direction disappears

At MindShaped, we work with stress in a different way than many are used to. We don't believe that stress happens because you have too much to do. We believe stress happens when you've had too much to do for too long - without enough direction, balance or breaks to breathe. It's not necessarily the amount of tasks that pressurises us, but the feeling of not getting it right, not being able to keep up and not doing it well enough. That feeling sets in - and if we ignore it for too long, the body reacts. Initially with busyness dopamine and energy, but over time the body switches to adrenaline and eventually cortisol - and that's when stress starts to take hold.

"We don't get stress from being busy. We get stress when we wait too long to listen to the signals."

When companies contact us with stress issues, we start in a different place than most people expect. We don't start with symptom management - but with well-being. We start by watering what we want to grow. That's why we work with stress both preventively and individually. Preventively by helping you create a culture where structure, clear expectations and a healthy meeting culture help reduce uncertainty and overload. And individually by supporting people who are on their way to sick leave - or on their way back.

In our individual programmes, we work with three key elements. Firstly, we identify the trigger that set off the reaction - the moment when the cup overflowed. When you put it into words, you also get a grip on the unconscious mechanisms that can otherwise keep the body on alert. Next, we work with task management - because the feeling of being in control is crucial to regain the overview and the belief that it can be done. And finally, we work with personal direction through the concept of CEO in your own life - Too many people suffer from stress when they lose themselves along the way and forget what really matters.

We don't offer break cards, mindfulness breaths or fruit baskets. We don't offer small symptom treatments that soothe for a while. We work with awareness, behaviour and real choices. We help people understand what led to imbalance - and how, with simple tools and insights, they can take steps to move forward stronger. We believe that you can continue to grow even if you're affected. And we believe that stress is not an individual problem, but an organisational signal.

"A psychologist can help you understand why it went wrong.
A coach helps you figure out how to move forward."

Stress is not just something we have to survive - it's something we have to learn from. At MindShaped, we make stress manageable. Not with off-the-shelf solutions - but with presence, structure and tools that work in practice.

How many of these do you recognise?

  • Stress is talked about as something private - not as something organisational
  • No one dares to speak up when the pressure gets too much
  • Busy all the time - with no opportunity for real respite
  • People return from sick leave without a clear plan
  • Stress courses are mostly about symptoms - not causes
  • Management fails to recognise the link between structure and stress
  • Responsibility is given - but not support
  • Culture celebrates busyness more than healthy balance
  • People lose perspective - and feel inadequate
  • Not knowing what to do when a colleague shows signs of stress

What makes an organisation that prevents stress?

  • Stress is seen as a shared responsibility - not an individual problem
  • There's room to speak up - and culture to take it seriously
  • Prioritising prevention over repair
  • Employees know the signals - and feel confident to act on them
  • Peace to recover - and support to return
  • Tasks are prioritised and followed up - not just delegated
  • There is a clear framework, realistic goals and clear direction
  • Management takes the lead in talking about wellbeing and strain
  • Returning employees get support to rebuild themselves
  • Wellbeing is seen as a strategic investment - not a soft value
Stress handler ikke om travlhed – det handler om varighed og følelsen af ikke at slå til.

💡 4 tips & tricks to prevent stress

Create a culture where it's safe to speak up

v

Stress is best prevented in an everyday life where signals are heard - and responded to in time.

Talk about causes - not just symptoms

v

Go beyond the tiredness and anxiety - and find out what's actually creating the imbalance.

Set the pace - before the pace sets in

v

Stress often occurs when we forget to stop. Make sure your rhythm is paused, prioritised and clear.

Create realistic frameworks - and follow up on them

v

It's not enough to talk about balance - it must also live in structures, leadership and collaboration.
